For Anne, the love for the renewables industry started at a young age, when he and his father attended an open day of the first 250 kilowatt wind turbine in Friesland. In 1995, Anne was involved in the construction of a wind turbine at their own farm, and, at the request of his father and business partners of his father’s, then went on to develop a wind farm in Delfzijl. After high school Anne studied Agricultural Engineering at Wageningen University. Following graduation he took his wind energy vision and plans back to his birth grounds at Noordoostpolder.
After High school, Jelma de Groot went to Henley Business School. Once graduated, she started as a marketing professional with an international career. After seven years abroad, she was asked to return to the Netherlands to join the family business.
With the in-depth knowledge and experienced gained from the Westermeerwind, and Noordoostpolder wind farms, Anne and Jelma decided to join forces and start Ventolines in 2007, with the aim to create an all-round service provider in the wind industry.
Having successfully completed the development, contracting, financing and construction stages of Westermeerwind, with in-house asset management for Westermeerwind and other projects, with Fryslân Wind Farm (~350MW) at an advanced development stage and with several large client contracts in the wind industry, Ventolines decided to use the experience and knowledge gained through these complex wind energy projects to become a solar energy service provider in addition to its wind energy activities. With a number of projects currently being developed for our clients, the solar team is growing fast and is full of ambition. The professionals of the solar team have extensive cumulative experience in all project stages in The Netherlands, United Kingdom and Australia.
The Ventolines team now comprises over 40 (international) experienced and ambitious renewable energy professionals, each with their own expertise and unique personal touch.
