Wind farm De Drentse Monden Oostermoer
In the northern part of the Drentse Veenkoloniën is being built on Windpark De Drentse Monden Oostermoer. In the municipalities of Borger-Odoorn and Aa en Hunze to be exact. In this area 45 wind turbines will be placed in six line configurations. These lines are spread over more than 50 square kilometres in the area of 2e Exloërmond, Nieuw-Buinen, Drouwenermond and Gasselternijveen.
The 45 wind turbines of the wind farm will soon supply approximately the same amount of electricity as 225,000 households consume per year. This could, for example, supply the entire province of Drenthe with electricity (the province of Drenthe has 216,000 households).
Many farmers are located in the Drentse Veenkoloniën and are keen to expand their business activities by building wind turbines on their land. Independently of each other, three initiatives arose, which subsequently started to work together under the direction of the national government. The three parties are Energieproductie Exloërmond , Pure Energie en Windpark Oostermoer Exploitatie. A total of more than 100 locally established agricultural businesses are involved.
After reaching Financial Close at the end of December 2019, the first wind turbine was officially commissioned in early 2020. The construction of access roads and crane stands started at the beginning of March 2020. Subsequently, we will start the construction of 44 foundations this spring. The construction of the wind turbines will follow in the second half of 2020. The wind farm is expected to be operational in 2021.
Ventolines is involved in the wind farm since November 2017 for the tendering of the wind turbines, the supervision of all EMC modifications, the tendering of the civil and electrical works and the contracting of the parties involved. In addition, Ventolines will also supervise the construction of the wind farm. On behalf of Ventolines Thijs Afman (Project and Contract Manager), Valentijn Winkel (WTG Package Manager), Kay Woesthuis (Project Delivery Manager), Wybe Dijk (QHSSE manager), Maarten Swets (Asset Management) and Maya Soerjoesing (BoP Package Manager) are part of the project team.
