ELWIND
About this project
Ventolines, with its subcontractors ERM and Firma L4, is selected by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) and Environmental Investment Centre of Estonia (KIK) to provide tender support for the ELWIND project. The supports consists of the preparation of technical and environmental specification for procurement documentation. The procurement will be of technical and environmental impact studies. The result serves to support the subsequent tender process for the various offshore lots.
The ELWIND offshore wind project will consist of two offshore windfarms in respectively the Latvian and Estonian part of the Baltic Sea, generating a minimum of 1GW in total
and connected through a high voltage grid connector. Once ready, ELWIND will make a significant contribution to energy independence in the region.
Ventolines will focus on the technical scope of the project. This will include drafting the specification for scoping studies, pre-feed (front end engineering and design), feed and technical specifications for the grid and its onshore connection and the foreseen interconnector. ERM is responsible for defining the specifications for the environmental surveys, the environmental impact assessment and visual impacts as well as geotechnical and geophysical works. Firma L4 will lead the way in all local content, scoping and data management.
“I’m very much enjoying the execution of this project. It is a combination of a multi-stakeholder, technical and environmental project with the end goal of accelerating offshore wind developments. The collaboration with both governments shows that great efforts have already been done in order to get to this stage and I’m very much looking forward to support them in taking the next step towards the development of both wind farms and the interconnector.”
